Highland Carbon is a purpose-driven business founded by a Zoologist with experience working in international conservation.  We use that expertise to shape and to vet climate forest and wetland projects undertaken and validated in the UK, which achieve Pending Issuance Units and certified carbon units.  We also source offsetting from the international market, which enables us to offer stacked solutions and a range of certifications for Net Zero, Carbon Neutral, Nature Positive and Climate Positive.

The UK is one of the most nature-depleted countries on Earth.  One in seven species are under threat of extinction.  We believe that nature-based carbon offsetting projects, when carefully sited and designed appropriately, present the best opportunity in history to rebalance UK nature.

Highland Carbon partners with more than a dozen large, Scottish estates within the frameworks of the Woodland Carbon Code and Peatland Code.  We have sold carbon from two English projects located in Lancashire and Northumberland.  We also partner with a Welsh estate in the context of Sequoia Carbon.

Highland Carbon has won the award for 'Best UK Carbon Credit Supplier' for three years in a row in 2021, 2022 and 2023 - each year that we applied.  We are currently candidates for the 2024 award.  We can ensure that you have appropriate carbon units in order to meet PAS2060 and ISO14068-1 certification.
